DHCF Special Meeting on August 17, 2011

This evening we gathering for a special meeting with the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Florida. Members along with those invited; it was a great turn out. Among those invited was Joshua Romero; Organizing for America. We had the opportunity to participate on an exercise. It was brought forth by Miguel Lopez, our President and Vice President, Jose BallasQuide. The question asked, using one or two words: What word would describe you as a Democrat? Various words were spoken for example; unity, part of the working class and having empathy for others and many more; the list was endless. This brought forth such a focus of clarity among members and guests. On a personal note: a sense of belonging; this may be the case for those starting out new, as part of a political chapter or organization. As for me, I have been a Democrat for most of my life. This evening just reinforced my commitment.
